Who We Are

Transformation for Rural Development (TRAFORD) is a private limited organisation that was incorporated by the government of Uganda in April,2016.

TRAFORD advocates, advises and promotes agriculture innovations with special emphasis on Climate Smart Agriculture for cereals, pulses and oil crops. Through this, Transformation for rural development limited is dedicated to poverty eradication through innovations that sustain household incomes and food security; improving the health and welfare of communities through capacity building trainings such as climate smart agriculture extension, farm entrepreneurship,post harvest handling,produce marketing,life skills ,capacity building in form of building farmer networks and associations that are easy to work with.
As we work, we take into emphasis the following key factors, youth and women active participation, climate change adaptation,mitigation and productivity,biodiversity conservation and protection of the farming environment against factors that degrade the ecosystem. TRAFORD works with contracted farmers organised into groups and associations to make it easy for the company to extend its services.A contract farming model is used as means of providing reliable, flexible and sustainable services to communities. Contract farming simplifies the way we work with  farmers.TRAFORD, welcomes partnerships with government,Nongovernmental organisations(NGOs), agriculture research centres, public and private sector institutions in the value chain  of  cereals, pulses and oil crops ,their value added products, and any other individuals and organizations interested in climate change mitigation at national, regional and international levels.
